High blood pressure, or hypertension, is a chronic condition. If blood pressure is not controlled, it increases the risk of a heart attack. However, if the daily food list is prepared correctly right from the beginning, high blood pressure will be controlled. Today, I will discuss eight foods that you must eat every day to control high blood pressure. I will also tell you the names of eight foods that you should never eat, but we tend to consume them more often.
What harm does coffee cause?
Consuming coffee can lead to an increase in blood pressure for a temporary period. Therefore, individuals with high blood pressure issues should strictly refrain from consuming coffee. This is because caffeine triggers the blood vessels, which can result in a sudden rise in blood pressure, increasing the risk of a stroke. Hence, if you have high blood pressure, it is strongly recommended to completely eliminate the habit of drinking coffee or excessive tea. Instead, you can consider drinking 1 to 2 cups of green tea daily as an alternative.
What happens when you eat too much salt?
One of the main reasons for high blood pressure is the excessive accumulation of sodium in the body, which is primarily obtained from consuming excessive salt. Additionally, iodized refined table salt, which we commonly consume, contains a significant amount of sodium. Therefore, it is necessary to consume salt in limited quantities, as it also contributes to the excess intake of sodium.
red meat
In the case of high blood pressure, it is advisable to completely eliminate the consumption of red meat, such as beef or buffalo meat. Alternatively, you can consume it once every 10 to 15 days, but in limited quantities, not exceeding 100 grams per meal. This is because consuming red meat can increase the level of harmful cholesterol and also contribute to an increase in blood pressure, which can lead to heart disease.
Sugar or sugary foods
In the case of high blood pressure, it is necessary to completely eliminate any food items that are high in added sugars. Starting from cakes and pastries to commercially available juices that contain a significant amount of added sugar, all should be strictly avoided. These foods not only contribute to weight gain but also raise blood cholesterol levels, increasing the risk of heart disease along with high blood pressure.
Egg yolks and chicken skin
It is important to be cautious about consuming the skin and yolk of eggs, especially from commercially raised poultry. If you consume one egg with its yolk and one egg white daily, it should not pose any problems. However, if you consume three to four eggs with their yolks in that case, there can be risks. In such cases, experts suggest eating the white portion of the first egg and avoiding the yolks of the remaining eggs if you have a risk of high blood pressure.
